Car Safety

Today Constable Jude talked to us about how to be safe when travelling in a car. We learned some very important rules.

1. If you are under 7 years old you must be in a booster seat or car seat.
2. Always wear a seatbelt.
3. Never make too much noise.
4. Never distract or touch the driver.
5. Keep your arms, legs and head inside the car.

AND

The rule the children liked the most...
6. Always stop at the the ice cream shop!!!

We had a great time practising how to put on our seatbelt in the police car.

It was super fun dressing up in Constable Jude's police uniforms.

Crossing The Road

Today we practised crossing the road on our own. We did really well remembering all the safety tops Constable Jude showed us last week.

Swimming

Yesterday we started swimming. The water is really warm and so refreshing at the end of the day.

Stepping Out

Today Constable Jude stopped by and taught us how to cross the road safely. It is really important that you STOP, LOOK and LISTEN whenever you are neae the curb and need to cross the road. Remember to walk on the houses side of the footpath.

Making Classroom Connections

Today we played the 'string' game. We used the string to show the connections that exist in our class. Once we had finished we had a massive tangled web showing how we are all connected in some way.

Library

Monday is library day. We love going along and having time to browse through all the different books.

Whanaungatanga

This term our topic is 'Whanaungatanga'. We are learning about the relationships we have within our family as well as our class. In Rm 8 we have been thinking really hard about the relationships we need to form with each other to make sure we have a happy and safe classroom so we can all learn and do our very best.
Come in and check out what we have included on our Class Treaty.
